Pad thai forever.

I block my calendar for focus time but I also specifically write down what I will be working on in that time. Helps me go back to last week and remember what I did 🥴

Pad Thai FOREVER. I’m back, baby.

I have also started doing this for focus time which really does keep me, well, focused 🙃

Julie!! Love the branding update! so fun. Love the mention <3 and similarly feel really lucky to be in the Substack motherhood & identify sphere. And wow, I hardcore related to how seeing Wicked (the movie, alone the week before Christmas at noon by myself - a dream!)reignited the theater kid in me that LOVED musical soundtracks and who would recite monologues aloud in her room (I swear I had friends). It sparked major joy and was really a reminder that I can revisit the things that used to make past me really happy, even it if was eons ago.

Thank you!! The updated branding should've been one of my things!!! I'll save it for next time :) My husband did it (plug to anyone reading: www.atpetal.com), and I was probably his most annoying client 🤣 (actually, in his words, I was "worse because [I'm] not a client".

And I love hearing that Wicked reignited something in your too (I too recited monologues in my room, you do not need to explain that one to ME)! It is a nice reminder, with a twinge of (healthy) nostalgia.

Loving the new series! I'm bookmarking that daily task notepad you shared. I, too, am trying to start my day with a little checklist to stay organized -- it makes such a difference (!) -- but have been using my Notes app. Something about physically writing them down and checking them off sounds...better. Also, thank you so much for the sweet mention. The enjoyment is so mutual! xx

It really does make a huge difference! And it's just a nice thing to do every morning, when I'm not really feeling getting started with my day, just writing everything out can help ease me in to whatever I have coming up!

Hmmmmm - some of my things:

- January has felt long on my end too. I’m grateful that I got away for a week in Jamaica where I hula hooped a lot and unblocked my twin practice (two hoops at the same time). This is VERY exciting because I’ve been trying for over a year, it’s super cool looking, feels amazing, and is the first hoop move that really goes with the samba beat! And I love samba.

- Related to the above twin excitement, I’ll be performing at a hoop convention in February in WI - a samba twins performance!

- I just ordered The Artist’s Way and am about to start the 12 week creativity program with 2 friends. I went through this program back in the 90’s. It’s wild to be coming back to it. No idea or expectation on where it will lead me.

- I love co-working and leading group experiences. I really believe there is incredible power created when we humans gather with a shared intention. And when I’m leading I can see so much more expansion for people in groups then in one on one sessions.

- I’ve been reading a book of daily messages that is changing me. It’s called Well Rested Every Day - 365 rituals, recipes, and reflections for radical peace and renewal by Jolene Hart, CHC. I’m on day 90 and I’ve added little things into my life from the suggestions that are really game changers. Simple things like chamomile tea, a peace tea at night that has passion flower (has completely changed my sleep), yoga nidra here and there, gargling (who knew it’s good for the nervous system), date syrup (yum on toast and to make chocolate).

Those are the things that stand out.

Thanks for this opportunity to reflect!

I am pretty sure you bought ME my copy of The Artist's Way 15 years ago. No, I have not made it past the first chapter, but it currently sits on my nightstand...
